What you need to know about the Texting & Driving and Car Seats On Nov. 1, 2015, a new Texting and Driving law and updated Child Passenger Restraint laws went into effect. Texting & Driving • It is illegal to type or read a text-based message on an electronic device while driving a vehicle. • It ba de • Applies whenever the vehicle is in motion. • Ap m Car Seats • Children aged 7 or younger must ride in a booster seat. • Exception applies to children at least 57 inches (4’9”) tall. • Children should be in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2 or until they reach the car seat weight/height limit. City of Stillwater Hours of Operation & Services Thanksgiving Weekend—Nov. 26 & 27 • Most City of Stillwater offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26 & Friday, Nov. 27. Normal business hours will resume Monday, Nov. 30. • Stillwater Public Library will be closed Thursday Nov. 26 & Friday, Nov. 27. The library closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. Normal business hours will resume Saturday, Nov. 28. • Offices in the Parks and Recreation Armory Activity Center & Stillwater Area Sports Association offices will be closed Thursday Nov. 26 & Friday, Nov. 27. Normal business hours will resume Monday, Nov. 30. • Lakeside Golf Course will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26. Normal business hours will resume Friday, Nov. 27 (weather permitting). • WASTE & RECYCLE COLLECTION SERVICE Thursday and Friday residential & commercial customers will receive waste collection and curbside recycling service Thursday, Nov. 26 & Friday, Nov. 27. Lewis St. More information at stillwater.org under “City Projects” Next Curbside Glass Recycling Pickup Week is Dec. 14-18 Beginning January 2016, the City of Stillwater will start picking up curbside glass recycling from customers on their first waste service day of each month.
